SACRED - silicone; foam; synthetic hair; glass. 2019

Exploring the divinity we individually hold for particular body parts, in my case, the ear. The ear symbolises life and birth, a female organ in it's form. A bodily orifice, wide open to the good and bad influences of it's environment. The sensory organ of hearing and the keeper of our equilibrium. A humbled, erogenous zone. A sacred place.

The threefold terror of love; a fallen flare Through the hollow of an ear; Wings beating around the room; The terror of all terrors I bore The Heavens in my womb.

W. B. Yeats, from“The Mother of God”
